Friendship and shared joy. A harvest brought in together, a reunion, a reason to celebrate. Good things feel larger among good company.

What the card shows
Three young women dance close together in an orchard at harvest time, barefoot on the grass. One wears indigo with white flowers, one vermilion, one sage green, their hair pinned up with small ornaments. Each lifts a red lacquer cup above her head. Persimmon trees heavy with orange fruit frame them, baskets of persimmons and ripe pumpkins sit at their feet, and a full moon rises over blue hills.
In Rider–Waite–Smith tarot the Three of Cups shows three maidens raising cups among fruit and flowers. It is read as friendship, community and celebration: joy that belongs to a group. Persimmons, a familiar autumn fruit in Japan, set the scene firmly at the end of the growing year, when the work is done and there is time to gather.
Three of Cups in love
Love surrounded by friends: a happy gathering, support from the people around you. Or a friendship that warms into something more.
Three of Cups in work
Teamwork and shared success. Celebrate the finished harvest together, and give every hand its credit.
As advice
Gather your friends for something simple: a meal, a walk, an evening. Tell one of them what their friendship has meant this year.
Three of Cups: yes or no
