What the card shows
An old teacher, bald with a long white beard, sits cross-legged on a raised wooden dais in plain dark robes, his right hand lifted with two fingers raised. A pale disc of light glows behind his head. Red wooden pillars frame him, dark tassels hang from the beam, and pines show beyond the hall. On the matted floor below, two students, one in green and one in vermilion, kneel with heads bowed before a low stand draped with a cloth that bears two crossed keys.
In Rider–Waite–Smith tarot the Hierophant sits between two pillars with two followers at his feet and crossed keys before him: the keeper of tradition, teaching and shared belief. The raised hand is a blessing. The keys are knowledge that opens doors, handed from teacher to student, and the kneeling pair show that a tradition lives only while it is received and carried on.

As advice
Find someone who has done what you are trying to do and ask them one good question. Take the answer seriously, then decide what to keep.
The Hierophant: yes or no
Yes
The conventional path is sound here; good guidance and proven forms lead the right way.
A question to keep
Which lesson from someone older still guides you, and which is ready to be set down?
