What the card shows

A young rider with his hair tied back gallops a chestnut horse across dry, golden grassland. The horse leaps with its front hooves off the ground, dust rising behind it. The rider wears an indigo jacket patterned with small red salamanders, white trousers and tall boots, a green scarf streaming from his shoulders, and holds a leafy bamboo pole high over his head. The sky is orange, with a low red sun over blue hills.

In Rider–Waite–Smith tarot the Knight of Wands rides a rearing horse across a desert, his tunic covered in salamanders, the creatures once believed to live in fire. Knights are movement; this one is the fiery suit in full charge: courage, appetite and adventure. The leaping horse shows the energy, and also how easily it runs ahead of its rider.

Knight of Wands in love

Passion, excitement, a swift pursuit. Thrilling, but check whether the rider means to stay.

Knight of Wands in work

Bold moves, travel, a fast start. Channel the drive into one direction and finish what you gallop into.

As advice

Take the bold step you have been circling, today. Before riding off, decide where to stop.

Knight of Wands: yes or no

Yes

The horse is already moving; the card leans yes, for quick and bold action.

A question to keep

Where are you ready to charge, and where do you need the reins?
